Safeguarding

THE PARISH OF KIRKBYMOORSIDE WITH GILLAMOOR, FARNDALE, BRANSDALE AND EDSTONE

   Safeguarding

Our Church is committed to Safeguarding - to keeping all children, young people and adults at risk safe and free from harm. We have a growing congregation and an increasing number of visitors and this commitment is reaffirmed annually by the PCC.

The PCC has approved our safeguarding policy and we have training, policies and procedures in place for all elected and appointed officers to:

  • promote a safe environment and culture to prevent all abuse where we can,
  • encourage us to learn more about safeguarding and how we can get involved,
  • safely recruit and support those working with children and young people and vulnerable adults,
  • respond to and promptly report safeguarding concerns,
  • care pastorally for those who have experienced or been affected by abuse,
  • care pastorally for anyone who may pose a risk to others.

The PCC has appointed Sarah Andrews as Parish Safeguarding Officer who with our Vicar Revd. Paul Sunderland are the people in the Parish to speak to about any safeguarding concerns you may have.
